For those who know Rōze Traore, there are a few distinct characteristics that define his passion for life, cooking and travel. Rōze Traore is first and foremost a chef. He is also a cultural ambassador, globe-trotter, mental health advocate, innovator, two-time open heart surgery survivor and much more.

While recovering from his second pulmonary valve replacement at the age of 14, Rōze looked towards the kitchen for a healing place to recover and focus his energy and has never turned back. At 18, Rōze took his knife kit and headed to Le Cordon Bleu. From there, he hit the road, living in Washington DC, Ivory Coast, London, Paris and NY, learning from the best in the business and immersing himself in a variety of cultures. Travel has always been the life line for Rōze’s creativity and the inspiration for much of what he creates in the kitchen. Most importantly, he has made it his mission to help people, of every socio-economic background, to experience the pleasures of eating fresh, beautiful food in a very tangible and accessible way.

Recently, Roze had the good fortune to work under the tutelage of Chef Daniel Humm at Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad Hotel. Growing and learning with the Make it Nice team was a pivotal experience in his career and one he is particularly grateful for. Rōze is putting his passport to use and has turned his attention towards his own company, Rōze LLC. Executing private events, pop up dinners and curated dining experiences fill Chef Rōze’s day to day schedule.
